Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS)

The Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) is a system of digital image production, viewing, storage, and dispersal. It eliminates the need for x-ray film and makes it possible for multiple physicians to have access to the same diagnostic imaging study simultaneously.

PACS improves diagnostic accuracy, enhances productivity, and makes diagnostic images and reports quickly available to the entire medical enterprise. Using secure networks, it forms part of the patient's electronic medical record.

Rick Figeley is SSR’s PACS/IT Administrator. He can be reached at (360) 493-4632.
